What was one of your corporate or career highlights of the decade?
My most memorable experience during 2000-2009 was my extensive participation in the sale of a major suburban Long Island office building in 2007. This was the largest one off transaction that I worked on in my 29-year career. The seller was a 30-year client of our firm with whom we had extensive dealings with providing commercial real estate mortgage banking expertise for him and his family since the 1970s. This $210 million sale represented a high watermark for sales in that the asset is a "core plus" trophy office complex due to location, tenancy, management, etc., and most thought it would never be sold by its owner.
