New York, NY According to the Steinbridge Group, former Wall Street and NYCEDC executive Tawan Davis has joined the firm as its chief executive officer. In this leadership role, Davis will oversee Steinbridge’s day-to-day operations and transaction pipeline. Formed by a group of private family and international investors, Steinbridge employs a multi-tiered investment strategy: acquiring income-producing real estate assets in U.S. gateway cities and pivoting submarkets; providing foreign investors with access to U.S. real estate assets; and targeting high-quality, mid-sized assets for acquisition. Steinbridge co-invests with various global partners, taking a long-term hold position. Having already closed on $200 million in U.S. real estate acquisitions so far this year, Steinbridge is currently focused on acquiring income-generating assets in the Washington, DC, Boston, and New York City markets. They are finalizing the acquisition of an additional $500 million in assets, with another $1 billion worth of acquisitions in the pipeline. Steinbridge’s investors identified Davis as the ideal executive to lead the firm. “Tawan has a brilliant eye for real estate finance,” they said in a statement. “His investment experience within both the public and private sectors in the U.S. and abroad gives him a global perspective on key investment drivers, as well as a strong ability to structure, execute, and manage individual real estate investments. We are confident that as Steinbridge’s CEO, Tawan will identify high-quality assets for investment with long-term value on our behalf.” “I am excited to have the opportunity to advance Steinbridge as a presence in the global real estate investment market,” Davis said. “We have identified several niches within the property market that appeal to our investment partners and bode well for the company’s future.” Throughout his career Mr. Davis has held several high-level positions both in the private and public sectors. He previously held a senior position with a private developer and before that led public-private partnerships with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in the Michael Bloomberg administration, where he analyzed, structured, and executed nearly $1 billion in transactions. Prior to NYCEDC, Davis was an investment manager with Prudential Real Estate Investors, where he managed several billion dollars of real estate investments, joint ventures, developments, and operating assets throughout the U.S. and Europe. He was also an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, where he concentrated on mergers, acquisitions, and financing of publicly traded companies. Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Georgetown University, a Master of Science degree in Sociology & Economics from Oxford University, and a Master’s degree from Harvard Business School. Davis noted that Steinbridge plans to make additional high-level executive hires, while actively negotiating the acquisition of several additional assets, which they hope to finalize over the coming months
