Crystal Window & Door Systems wins 2007 Product of the Year

Crystal Window & Door Systems continued its award winning tradition with one of its premier offerings recently being selected as a top pick by a leading national fenestration magazine in its annual review of new product introductions. The Crystal Series 1400 "In-Swing" Aluminum Terrace Door was highlighted by U.S. Glass Magazine as one of its 2007 Product of the Year Winners. The Crystal Terrace Door was the winner in the commercial door and window category. Winners were determined by a survey of U.S. Glass readers selecting in various categories the products that stood out as extraordinarily important or helpful. The Crystal Terrace Door was one of only two window and door exterior fenestration product winners. The remainder of winners were glass systems, curtain wall, skylights, fabrication equipment, shower enclosures, tools, hardware or software. Overall the magazine identified 16 top product award winners. "The selection of the Series 1400 Aluminum Swing Terrace Door as a U.S. Glass Product of the Year demonstrates that Crystal is serious about the heavy-commercial fenestration market," said Steve Chen, company executive vice president. "Our company is listening to the needs of architects, building owners, and property managers, and we are continually responding with new products and product features." The in-swing Series 1400 was tested by an independent national laboratory and achieved an outstanding AAMA test rating of ATD-HC50. The terrace door features a heavy-duty 3-1/4" frame depth and a 1" insulated tempered glass unit. A 3-point lock system (4-point for units over 84" in height), as well as solid European hardware and handles, are standard on the door. The terrace door's aluminum extruded frame and sash employ a polyamide Insul-Bar thermal break system for enhanced energy efficiency, added strength, and easy accommodation of two-tone interior/exterior color specifications. Especially well-suited for replacement and new construction high-rise building applications, Crystal's Series 1400 Terrace Door is available in standard "out-swing" and optional "in-swing" models. Many customization options are offered to complete the product line, including: custom color choices; special finishes; double door combinations, with or without meeting astragals; kick-panel inserts; and matching overhead transoms.
