COOKFOX Architects names Adkins and Teal partners

New York, NY COOKFOX Architects promoted Arno Adkins and Susie Teal from senior associates to partners.

Adkins, AIA, joined COOKFOX in 2010 and has worked across a variety of project scales and typologies including the renovation of a historical private residence in Garrison, and the design of 301 East 50th St., a high-rise residential building in Manhattan. He was also the project architect for One South First, a mixed-use tower at the northern end of the Domino Sugar masterplan on the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn and 512 West 22nd St., a biophilic workplace building on The High Line in Manhattan.

Currently, he is leading the design of a ground-up residential condominium tower within the historic Ladies Mile District on West 23rd St. and is the project architect for 555 Greenwich St., a new modern workplace and urban streetscape in the Hudson Square District. Adkins is the partner-in charge for 900 Marquette, a new high-rise workplace building in Minneapolis, and leading the establishment of a new COOKFOX studio there.

Teal, AIA, joined COOKFOX in 2012. Her first assignment at the firm was as project architect for Phase Two of City Point, an award-winning mixed-use development in Downtown Brooklyn. She was also the project architect for 535 Carlton, an affordable housing building in Brooklyn and is currently the project manager of 378 West End Ave. on the Upper West Side.

Teal is also the partner-in-charge for five buildings in the Washington Metro Area, including two residential buildings 1900 Crystal Dr. in Arlington, a workplace building in Potomac Yards, Alexandria, and two residential buildings in the Sursum Corda neighborhood of D.C. Teal speaks regularly on biophilic and sustainable design and housing, and has presented at the AIA Conference on Architecture, Greenbuild, CitiesAlive, NYCxDESIGN, the Façades+ Conference, and the Urban Green Council.
