Consolo, Aquino and Maglio of Prudential Douglas Elliman ink 1,000 s/f
The leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo, chairman and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president, along with Arthur Maglio, of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group, has arranged a new home at 1325 Fifth Ave. for City Cookhouse, an innovative commercial kitchen that is used by chefs, caterers and cooking teachers for hosting classes, testing restaurant menus, preparing off-site catering and filming cooking demonstrations.
Located north of Central Park, the 1,000 s/f space is on a block-front between 111th and 112th Sts.
The neighboring retail currently comprises H&R Block, Ottomanelli Brothers Wine & Burger Bar and Harlem Academy. In addition, the exclusive agency contains retail spaces directly across the street at 1330 Fifth Avenue. Other businesses in the immediate area include Carver Bank, New York Sports Club, Gran Piatto D'Oro Restaurant and Sunshine Day Care. Reinforcing the cachet of the area is 1280 Fifth Ave., the new Robert A.M. Stern-designed condominium on the corner of 110th St., where the groundbreaking Museum for African Art will soon be located. The much-anticipated center represents the first new addition to Manhattan's legendary Museum Mile since the Guggenheim was built in 1959.
"This is an extraordinary opportunity for burgeoning chefs and catering businesses at the gates of the new Harlem," said Ms. Consolo. "Our team has been responsible for bringing so much important retail here and this will be, literally, the icing on the cake."
Adds Mr. Maglio, "We have helped revitalize the retail on this block in a way that reflects an evolving community. City Cookhouse will be a destination for food lovers and professionals throughout the city, and will help drive even more business here."
Ms. Consolo, Mr. Aquino and Mr. Maglio represented both the landlord and tenant in the transaction.

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
