White Plains, NY Community Housing Innovations (CHI) and Mt. Hope Community Development Corp. joined with city, county and state officials on September 15th for the topping-out of Mt. Hope Plaza, a 56-unit apartment building.

The topping-out ceremony signifying the completion of the final floor was held with officials signing a large concrete slab that was raised by a crane along with an American flag to the top of the building. Among the officials attending the event were mayor Tom Roach, Westchester County executive Ken Jenkins, state senator Shelley Mayer, assemblyman Chris Burdick, county legislator Ben Boykin and city council president Victoria Presser.

Located at 65 Lake St., the building will feature a structured parking garage, with 47 spaces shared with the church. All 56 apartments are designated for adults aged 62 and older with income at or below 60% of the Area Median Income. CHI is a joint venture developer on this affordable housing residence and will manage 20 of the 56 units that will cater to seniors experiencing homelessness, supported by services funded under the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative.
