Cole of Peckar & Abramson appointed chair of the International Construction Division of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Construction Industry

According to Peckar & Abramson, P.C., Danielle Cole, partner at the firm's Atlanta office, has been appointed chair of the International Construction Division of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Construction Industry, the world's largest association of construction lawyers. A Record of Leadership Cole joined the ABA Forum on the construction industry in 2004 and has since assumed a variety of its leadership positions. Cole was an integral component of the steering committees of the International Construction and Project Performance Divisions, as well as the Forum's Marketing Committee, Diversity Fellowship Committee, Membership Committee and Diversity Committee. Cole actively contributed toward planning, coordinating, and presenting the Forum's highly successful fall 2010 Meeting in Miami, Florida as its Co-Chair. The event was attended by nearly 500 construction-industry leaders. Cole's extensive commitment to the Forum, the International Construction Division, and the construction industry ultimately led the Governing Committee and Selection Committee to appoint her Division Chair. CONSTRULEGAL and International Relations Experience In 2011, Peckar & Abramson and several Latin American law firms formed "CONSTRULEGAL," the first strategic alliance of law firms with specialized practices serving the construction industry in the American hemisphere. The current members of COSNSTRULEGAL, in addition to Peckar & Abramson, are: COMAD. S.C. from Mexico City, Mexico; Navarro-Sologuren, Paredes, Gray, Abagados from Lima, Peru; and Madeira, Valentim, Alem Advogados from Sao Paulo, Brazil. CONSTRULEGAL is expanding and will soon be joined by members from other countries in the Americas. The alliance has already been employed on behalf of clients in Mexico, Peru and the United States. Programs-Publications-People The ABA Forum on the Construction Industry is the world's largest association of construction lawyers, with over 6,000 members. Cole intends to build on the momentum of the Forum leaders that have mentored and preceded her, harnessing the vast experience and enthusiasm of her Division to expand international outreach efforts, as well as the membership of the Forum and of the International Construction Division. The Division has developed a comprehensive strategy to reach out to industry professionals and construction lawyers to advise them of the benefits of membership, and to encourage their participation in the global education and collaborative efforts of the construction industry. Ms. Cole's international experience places her in an ideal position to expand Associate Membership in the Forum, by identifying individuals that will contribute to its successful formula: Programs-Publications-People.
