Colberg Architecture appoints Collini to principal

Brooklyn, NY Colberg Architecture appointed Kelly Collini to principal. Collini is a registered architect with over two decades of experience creating award-winning environments for clients in the city, as well as across the nation.

“I’m pleased to bring my experience and capabilities to Colberg Architecture, an architectural studio leading important projects for industry leaders across the commercial, residential, retail and urban planning sectors,” said Collini.

Previously, Collini was an associate at Gensler, where she worked since 2005 as a senior design manager and a global account leader for WPP Group and Duff and Phelps. Before that, she worked at leading offices including Poliform USA, Architropolis, and Dull Olsen Weekes (now IBG Group Architects).

Collini has led successful architecture and design projects for large-scale commercial projects across the city. Her extensive experience includes directing and managing consultancy services, programming, and design services for Time Warner’s (now Warner Media) new Hudson Yards headquarters; leading design services for Newmark Group’s New York headquarters; providing design and consultancy services for Ogilvy & Mather’s relocation and domestic design and production headquarters; managing the creation of pre-built office standards for national implementation for Brookfield Properties; and overseeing the development and implementation of pre-built standards, design of public spaces and amenity areas of 140 Broadway for Hines Properties.

Additionally, Collini has completed extensive architecture and design projects for leading organizations including SL Green, Lafayette 148, Archdiocese of New York, Young & Rubicam, Scotia Bank, Zolfo Cooper, Gensler New York Offices, The Ad Council, and Xandr, which was named Crain’s New York Business’ Coolest Retrofit in 2020.

From this wealth of experience, Collini brings focused and clear, critical thinking to complex and multilayered projects. She has been in charge of a number of workplace projects within New York that have redefined best practices for media and communication companies, and has the expertise to lead collaborative design teams and build memorable places of enduring craft and quality, while offering exceptional client service. Collini is also well-versed in base building work for building owners, landlords and developers, including design standards and implementation of pre-built tenant spaces and upgrades to base building common elements.

Collini earned her BArch from Cornell University and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and National Council of Registration Boards.
