Located at 1001 Main St. on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, Conventus is a 350,000 s/f, 7-story building scheduled to be completed in spring 2015. Positioned as the northern gateway to the medical campus, the building will be physically connected via enclosed walkways to the new John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, the new University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Bioinformatics, and the University at Buffalo Research Institute on Addictions. Conventus will be home to key tenants including Kaleida Health, UBMD, AMRI, and First Niagara Bank.
The design and construction team for Conventus consists of Kideney Architects, Siracuse Engineers, M/E Engineering, C&S Companies, and LP CIminelli.
Paul Ciminelli, president and CEO of Ciminelli said, "The development process for Conventus began more than 20 years ago with the purchase of strategic real estate on the Medical Campus. The project gained momentum some 15 years later with the implosion of the office building at 50 High St., and now, as structural steel is complete, a one-of-a-kind project is taking shape. We are excited to be able to contribute to the fabric of both the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and the City of Buffalo in such a big way."
