CBRE arrange lease renewal & revitalization for ICRC at 801 Second Ave.

New York, NY CBRE has completed a long-term renewal and office space revitalization for the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation to the United Nations (ICRC) at their full-floor space at 801 Second Ave.

CBRE’s Matthew McBride and Ramsey Feher represented ICRC in the negotiations with owner, 43 & 2 Property Co. LLC, who handled the deal in-house.

“After a careful evaluation of their needs and an extensive search of the area office market, the ICRC executed a renewal that includes owner-financed modernization of the tenant’s long-time New York City office on the 18th floor of 801 Second Avenue,” said McBride. “Maintaining their proximity to the United Nations along with UN-Consulate Generals and embassies that ICRC interacts with on the east side of Midtown was extremely important to the tenant.”

The revitalized space is expected to be ready for occupancy in September 2022.

The property, 801 Second Ave., is a 22-story, 180,000 s/f boutique office building. The building offers small and medium sized businesses the opportunity to create a corporate identity with the occupancy of 8,850 s/f full floors. Originally constructed in 1930, a $5.8 million renovation project was completed in the early 2010s to update the facade and lobby, install customized lighting fixtures and computerize security system with turnstiles and add a canopy over the main entrance.
