Garden City, NY Michael Cardello III, a partner in the Long Island office of the  law firm of Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, was appointed by the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA) to serve as chair of its federal courts committee, effective June 1st-, for a two-year term.

The NCBA’s federal courts committee is responsible for monitoring and reporting recent procedures and case law developments within the federal court system. The federal courts committee also provides educational seminars to practitioners on various legal topics related to federal practice.

Cardello concentrates his practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, and represents large and small businesses, financial institutions and individuals in both federal and state courts. He is a member of the firm’s management committee as well as co-chair of the firm’s litigation group.

Cardello is a former law clerk for the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York, and presently serves on the Committee for Civil Litigation of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.  In addition, Mr. Cardello is currently appointed to a number of cases as a Discovery Referee and Special Referee by Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. He also mediates complex commercial litigation matters for cases pending in the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. Mr. Cardello is the former Chairman of the Commercial Litigation Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and is also a member of its Judiciary and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committees. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Court-Appointed Masters. Mr. Cardello earned his J.D., M.B.A., and B.B.A degrees from Hofstra University.
