Busy commercial real estate brokers turn to professional matchmakers

January 18, 2008 - Front Section
Commercial real estate brokers have always been highly driven people, determined to close big money deals, and reap substantial commissions. In such a fast-paced, stressful, and highly competitive world, real estate brokers have little time for dating. Online dating has proven to be disappointing and speed dating demoralizing.
That is why more and more brokers, both men and women, are turning to professional matchmakers to eliminate time wasted dating inappropriate others.
As Ken Smith, a thirty-six-year old broker said, "I've had friends fix me up with people whom I dated only once and that was enough. Frustrated, I saw an ad for a company called Great Date Now. I called and was interviewed for about an hour. They went through their data base and came up with three women who fit my criteria. I have had dates with all three and will continue to date two of those women. I have saved a lot of time not going to singles bars and not surfing the Internet."
Another broker, Linda M. who did not want her last name used for this article, said, "As an attractive twenty-eight-year old, I have many prospective clients who hit on me. I have to be nice to them, but I don't have to date them. I wanted to meet someone who is a professional, makes a good living, and is in his thirties. Gary Ferone, the president of Great Date Now, went into his data base and fixed me up with a young doctor. We had dinner at a very romantic restaurant in Soho and then went dancing. It was a wonderful beginning. We have been dating for six months and are now engaged to be married. Investing in the services of a professional matchmaker is one of the best investments I ever made."
Gary Ferone, owner and co-founder of Great Date Now, said "We have more than 4,500 young upscale clients in our data base, many of whom are in real estate related businesses. They come to us because they know that that they are unlikely to find an attractive, professional person at a singles bar. We offer a venue for busy real estate brokers to meet the right people quickly and establish long-term relationships. Our fees begin at $3,000 and our clients are happy to pay it, because we produce exactly the kind of results they're looking for."
Gary Ferone found Great Date Now four years ago, and it has become the largest and fastest growing personalized matchmaking service in the New York metro area with offices in Manhattan, Westchester, Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey.
"We are unique among matchmaking services," said Ferone, "providing entirely personal care from well-trained, sensitive, certified matchmakers, many of whom have professional experiences and educational backgrounds that qualify them to deal thoughtfully with a full range of client issues.
In addition, we perform extensive background checks on our clients to make sure they are who they say they are. At online dating services, many married men claim to be single; at Great Date Now, no such deception can take place. And we reject those applicants who are not interested in developing serious relationships.
In addition to priding itself on having extremely well-trained, sensitive matchmakers; Great Date Now provides the optional services of dating coach, Ron Salon, a psychotherapist, who has been helping singles for thirty years to jump-start their lives by providing guidance on maintaining new relationships.
