Staten Island, NY According to BFC Partners, developer of Empire Outlets, restaurant Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque will establish its first borough location at the retail outlet complex.
The new 2,575 s/f restaurant – located on the top floor within the 350,000 s/f retail development – will specialize in its own New York City style of BBQ, offering menu items such as brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, sweet potato casserole and burnt end baked beans.
The new leasing transaction brings one of the city’s premier names in the culinary industry to the center and continues to build on the momentum of the North Shore retail renaissance. The announcement of Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque comes several weeks after the signing of Staten Island’s first artisanal food hall, the Marketplace at Empire Outlets (MRKTPL).
“As we continue to program the food and beverage aspect of our center, it was very apparent to us that we wanted to pursue the best of the best,” said Joseph Ferrara, principal at BFC Partners. “We are thrilled to announce that Mighty Quinn’s, who has been ranked as one of the best BBQ restaurants in America, will be establishing a presence at Empire Outlets. Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, also ranked by Zagat as one of the hottest restaurant concepts in New York City will be introduced to a worldwide audience as we drive visitors from all over the planet to experience all that Empire has to offer. ”
“We look forward to becoming a part of this unique project and bringing our style of BBQ to Empire Outlets,” said Micha Magid, co-founder of Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque.
Michael Brais of Douglas Elliman Commercial, who serves as the exclusive food & beverage leasing representative for the development, said, “Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque will bring a unique, homegrown New York City dining option to Empire Outlets. It is a natural fit given its appeal to tourists, shoppers and residents.”
Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque currently has four locations in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn and one in northern New Jersey. The new restaurant, situated adjacent to the St. George Ferry Terminal, will join the growing roster of tenants at the center, including Nordstrom Rack, H&M, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic Factory Store, White House Black Market, Guess Factory Store, Francesca’s Collection, Jewelers on Fifth, Columbia Sportswear Company, Innovation Luggage, Wilsons Leather, G.H. Bass & Co., Lids, Obey Your Body and Walgreens. Empire Outlets is currently 50% leased and BFC Partners is currently in discussions with several prominent tenants for the balance of the building.
