At BOMA New York, we take immense pride in our commitment to the commercial real estate industry. It is not just our profession — it is our passion, and we are pleased to continue making meaningful contributions to its growth and success.
We are excited to announce that for the first time in six years, BOMA New York will host the BOMA NY MAC Conference 2025, taking place from April 9th – 10th at the Martinique New York Hotel, with the regional TOBY Awards at City Winery. MAC, also known as the Middle Atlantic Conference, is comprised of 15 local BOMA associations with a combined membership in excess of 3,800 covering 11 states and the District of Columbia, including: Capital Region/Albany, Baltimore, Boston, Central New York, Greater Buffalo, Greater Hartford, New Jersey, Greater New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Rochester NY, Southern Connecticut, AOBA/BOMA Washington, D.C., and Westchester County, NY.
As one of the largest and most influential regions within BOMA International, the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) plays a pivotal role in the success of the commercial real estate industry locally, regionally, and nationally. The MAC harnesses its influential position to create valuable leadership and learning opportunities for members throughout the region, celebrate the regional TOBY award winners, and fully capitalize on the vast wealth of expertise and knowledge within the BOMA MAC membership.
This exclusive two-day event presents a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive insights into the commercial real estate industry, featuring in-depth discussions, high-level networking opportunities, and exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of New York City’s most iconic properties, including the Empire State Building, 1 World Trade Center, and more. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in BOMA New York’s annual Energy Action Day program, highlighting best sustainable practices for 2025 and beyond. The conference will conclude with the distinguished Regional TOBY Awards ceremony, recognizing the regions best in commercial real estate, with winners going on to compete internationally.
BOMA New York is honored to be bringing together leaders in commercial real estate to recognize and celebrate excellence in property management and operations. We look forward to seeing you on April 9th – 10th. For more information about participating in this exciting event, contact Lori Raphael, executive director at [email protected] or Matt Caranante, director of membership & events at [email protected]
In addition, we would like to remind all local BOMA NY 2024 TOBY winners that to qualify for this year’s Regional & International TOBY Awards, your building(s) must be submitted through a BOMA 360 application by January 15th. Once your BOMA 360 application is submitted, please be sure to submit a TOBY Awards application by March 3rd. Winning entries will move on to the international level, with TOBY Awards being presented at the BOMA International Conference on June 28th in Boston.
As we enter the new year, I wanted to highlight the critical role of BOMA New York’s Preparedness Committee to BOMA’s Middle Atlantic Region. It plays a vital part in identifying and disseminating essential information on emergency preparedness, building security, and related challenges facing the commercial real estate industry. The committee also establishes guidance and standards for addressing building operational issues while reinforcing the positive role of commercial real estate as a secure and reliable environment for businesses. We welcome our BOMA New York members to join.
As the hosts of the Middle Atlantic Preparedness, we would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dermot Shea, president of Related Companies, commercial property management and former NYC police commissioner, and Danielle Outlaw, deputy chief security officer at The Port Authority of NY & NJ and former Philadelphia Police commissioner for their leadership on the November 2024 program. They provided invaluable insight on the industry’s role in protecting public safety and preparing for civil unrest, both within the commercial real estate sector and the public realm. We appreciate their time, expertise, and the engaging conversation that helped deepen our understanding of these important topics locally and regionally.
With the upcoming BOMA New York MAC Conference, the continued efforts of all of our peer-led committees, BOMA New York remains dedicated to advancing the commercial real estate industry through innovation, leadership, and collaboration. We look forward to connecting with you in person at the conference in April and at events and committee meetings all year long.
On behalf of all of us at BOMA New York, we wish you a successful year filled with new opportunities and accomplishments.
Patrick Dolan, RPA, is chairman of BOMA New York.
