Beck joins Bleakley Platt as partner

According to Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, Katrine Beck has joined the firm as a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. Beck focuses her trial practice on general liability claims, commercial disputes and municipal law matters. She has successfully handled all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, including arbitrations and mediations. Her clients mainly include individuals, small businesses, corporations, property managers, and condominium/ co-op boards. The general liability component of her practice involves the defense of high-exposure cases involving construction accident claims under New York Labor Law, Public Health Law §2801-d, truck/auto accidents and premises liability claims. With respect to commercial litigation, Ms. Beck zealously represents her clients and provides innovative legal strategies within limited or expedited time frames and budgets. Ms. Beck's clients rely on her clear-headed approach and expertise in many areas of the law. Prior to joining the firm's robust 24 lawyer litigation group, Ms. Beck was a Partner at Wilson Elser, a large national defense firm. Prior to Wilson Elser, Ms. Beck served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department, Bronx Tort Division, where she defended and tried numerous cases to verdict on behalf of New York City and its agencies, including the Police Department, Board of Education, and Corrections, Transportation and Sanitation departments. Ms. Beck received her J.D. in 2000 from Albany Law School, where she served as Articles Editor for the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology. She graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey (B.A., magna cum laude) in 1996. Ms. Beck is a resident of Bergen County, New Jersey.
