Barrett of SecureWatch24 provides a no-nonsense approach to protecting residents of New York

Tom Barrett, a highly decorated twenty year veteran of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), continues to protect residents of New York as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of SecureWatch24. Spearheading the creation and implementation of SecureWatch24's investigative component, SW Security Services, LLC, Barrett and his executive team have introduced to the private security industry a unique and diversified Investigative Services platform. SecureWatch24 and its investigative counterpart work collaboratively to meet the needs of residential, commercial and institutional property owners and managers throughout the New York Metropolitan area. SW Security Services offers clients a variety of investigative tools that coincide seamlessly with the company's proprietary state-of-the-art software and security surveillance equipment. Barrett's most "formative" law enforcement experience occurred while assigned to interdiction and investigative teams focused primarily upon the reduction of violent street crime within New York City during the late 1980s and early 1990s ...the passion and commitment cultivated then presently contribute to the success of SecureWatch24's unrivaled security services program. Inspired by Tom's experience in crime fighting and team management, SecureWatch24 investigative and account management personnel have "without a doubt, changed the face of affordable housing in New York City." The company's uniquely qualified investigative staff includes former local and federal law enforcement personnel from units such as NYPD's Major Case Squad, Special Frauds and Financial Crimes Unit, Fugitive Enforcement Division, Narcotics and Gangs Divisions, Public Morals Division, City-Wide Vandals Squad, Terrorism Task Force, and Crime Scene Unit. So, how did SW24 get where it is today? Barrett's vision became reality in 2005, a year after SecureWatch24, LLC was established, when SW Security Services made dramatic footprints throughout New York City's residential real estate market by discreetly providing comprehensive investigative services in the areas of non-primary residency, arson and narcotics crimes. SW24 has since expanded investigative protocol to service clients in commercial, educational, hospitality and governmental arenas nationwide. Barrett professes that he and his colleagues did it "the old fashioned way." They "hired the best people out there, paid them competitively, and listened to good ideas coming from every end of the company." Take the affordable housing market, for instance. Barrett and his colleagues were painfully aware of the difficulties faced daily by property owners and managers struggling to maintain their real estate investments while attempting to operate within an acceptable profit margin. SecureWatch24 stressed the importance of those basic principles fundamentally geared toward maintaining their clients' property market values and operational viability. SecureWatch24 argues that insidious acts of vandalism, pervasive graffiti, and drug activity are the three most readily and frequently observed physical "deformities" on the face of our residential communities. When appearing within a residential complex with sufficient frequency, these conditions "collaborate" to drive down property values, scare away good tenants, reduce property "curb appeal," and negatively impact the quality of life for the whole community in which a property is located. This is readily demonstrated in communities with relatively dense concentrations of rent regulated housing units struggling to maintain their viability in today's trying economic conditions. Barrett and his team believe that the presence of graffiti and other clear evidence of vandalism within residential properties strongly suggest to reasonable people that such properties are not merely untidy, but likely unsafe as well. This perception is a common one and is as likely to reflect to the thinking of prospective residents as it is of property buyers and potential investors. Clearly, such a negative assessment of a property owner's real estate assets can have devastating financial consequences for that owner; just as importantly, the notion that a property is in decline elevates the comfort level of the criminal element, including drug dealers, and increases the likelihood that a particular property will become a base of operations for serious offenders. That said, Barrett believes there are a number of things a property owner or manager can easily do to protect their real estate investment. SecureWatch24 recommends that all property owners and managers adopt a specific incident response protocol consisting of a number of "best practices" encompassed within SW24's "6 R's"...Report (the incident), Respond (the team), Repair (the damage), Record (the data), Resolve (the issue)...and attain Restitution. Barrett is proud that this no-nonsense approach to problem-solving has provided the owners and managers of more than 1,600 properties in the Metropolitan area with reassurance that the SecureWatch24 logo is indeed the symbol of real estate security excellence. SecureWatch24 "partners with property owners and managers to address acts of vandalism, graffiti, illicit drug use, illegal tenancy and other instances of criminality." In the event of an incident, video retrieval, technical assistance, and investigative support will be provided 24/7 by knowledgeable professionals with distinguished backgrounds in both law enforcement and property management. According to Barrett, "once installed by SecureWatch24, a client's security system becomes our responsibility and our clients will be free to spend their time and energies doing what they do best - managing their properties." Barrett is always eager to tell prospective clients about the benefits of partnering with SecureWatch24, but he knows what you're thinking - "Don't tell me; show me." That said, he's ready and willing to do that and welcome all calls for further information and asks that you contact him at [email protected]. You may also visit SecureWatch24 at their website, www.securewatch24.com. Barrett and SecureWatch24, look forward to hearing from you and are ready to assist you with affordable solutions to your property management problems.
