Back to work transition - by Zeynep Ekemen

With vaccination rollouts in full swing, it’s only a matter of time before the country is headed back to work. Although we are eager to return to some sort of normalcy, cleanliness will forever be a priority–especially in the workplace.

At Silver Defender we want to contribute to a safer world and alleviate some of the stress people may feel around keeping their own spaces and business clean. In short, we are a surface technology company that harnesses the power of silver ions to keep businesses and everyday consumers’ spaces and most-touched items clean with their antimicrobial protected films. Silver Defender’s technology can go anywhere you need it. The antimicrobial protective films cover door handles, elevator buttons, handrails and bathroom faucets–all the things we are constantly reaching for in an office building.

Our products minimize impact on the environment. Unlike many other cleaning products, Silver Defender is made from recyclable plastic and is not chemically based. With sprays, wipes and other kinds of cleaning products, the next time someone touches that surface, it must be cleaned all over again. That’s more chemicals, more product, and more time spent cleaning. Silver Defender is a longer term and non-chemical solution to keeping your office or business clean.

Originally, I wanted to develop a product that could give people some peace of mind in public spaces, and when I learned more about silver ion technology, I realized we really weren’t taking advantage of all its uses. The proprietary film designs of Silver Defender contain an antimicrobial agent that protects the film from bacteria, mold, mildew and fungi. Silver ions react with and affect multiple sites in bacterial cells on the exterior, keeping it clean. Silver Defender is the only one of its kind to have initiated EPA pesticide registration, Silver Defender’s technology is activated by light, air pressure and touch.

Silver Defender’s adhesive films can be found on every continent. Notable clients who are already using Silver Defender to protect their offices and businesses include Bloomberg, SL Green, ViacomCBS, Clorox Headquarters, Structure Tone, Paramount Studios, MLB, NFL, SONY, and Silverstein Properties. Silver Defender’s products are available anywhere you buy office supplies–Grainger, Amazon.com, Quill.com, Staples.com and their website SilverDefender.com.

At its core, Silver Defender’s products give back to everyone they touch. The nature of Silver Defender products creates cleaner spaces–work, home, transportation. That kind of benefit is not just for those who purchase our products, but their customers, coworkers and all who interact with their spaces. As a society, we have learned quickly over the past year that cleanliness isn’t personal, it’s global.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking

Tri-state capital migrates nationally amid regulation pressure - by Reese Weaver

New York tri-state multifamily investors are increasingly reallocating capital to less-regulated markets across the U.S. as rent control and legislative risk erode returns at home. With over 60% of New York City’s rental housing stock classified as rent-stabilized, the traditional value-add model — buying under-performing buildings,
