According to Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc. of Greenwich, Conn., the grand opening was held for one of the first Fresh Markets in lower New York. The Fresh Market has leased 16,000 s/f at the Vernon Place Shops. The shopping center is located on Rte. 22 on the Scarsdale/Eastchester border and is across the street from Lord & Taylor. In addition, Urstadt Biddle has recently signed a lease with Chico's to occupy 2,850 s/f at the same property. Other tenants at Vernon Place Shops include EMS, Jos. Banks, Ann Taylor Loft, and Coldwater Creek.
James Aries of Urstadt Biddle Properties represented the landlord, Carpenter & Co., on both transactions totaling 18,850 s/f. The Fresh Market was represented by Tim McNamara of SullivanHayes and Colleen Quinn of Quinn Commercial. Chico's was represented by Michael Friedman of In-Line Realty.
