Aragon Construction finishes 17,000 s/f complete build for MDC Partners

Aragon Construction has finished a complete build from the ground up for MDC Partners at 745 Fifth Ave. The international firm will occupy 17,000 s/f on the 19th floor, which will serve as their flagship office. Aragon completed the project in conjunction with TPG Architecture, whose innovative design fills the space. "The theme is a marriage between the past and the future," said Luc Massaux, project architect of TPG. Technology plays a major role in the design, with a combination of displays - including the original computer and first Blackberry - and interactive touch screens that offer visitors additional information about the various design features. "We used materials like Wenge wood veneer to represent the strong historical base of the company, and white, high gloss lacquered panels to represent forward thinking towards a great future," said Massaux. "This was an ambitious project that required a great deal of specialized attention thanks to all of the intricate technology features," said Alex Getelman, founder and president of Aragon Construction. The offices are glass on all four sides - including full glass fronts - with discrete wood panels extending from the floor to mid-height.
