Andres Escobar & Associates completes 1,300 s/f office space

Asher Alcobi has made a recent real estate move. The office of Peter Ashe Real Estate, of which Alcobi is founder and president, is now situated at 841 Lexington Ave. in a 1,300 s/f space. The all-white, third floor space is illuminated by natural light, streaming through walls of glass, and 50 LED light fixtures containing a combination of low voltage and energy-efficient lights. Covering the walls is Venetian plaster. Covering the ground is an epoxy industrial floor, a feature which is becoming popular in offices looking for greener alternatives, as the flooring is made from cement and not trees. "Most people spend more waking hours at work then they do in their homes, so theoretically, your work environment should be nicer than your home," said Alcobi. "I wanted to give my co-workers, and myself, an open environment, with lots of light, to help with the creative process." "We were able to achieve so much in the space through transparency. We manipulated the light from outside and inside the office to make it appear bigger," said Andres Escobar of Andres Escobar and Associates, who designed the office space. "This project was as minimalistic and modern as possible."
