Adler & Stachenfeld promotes Leyvi to chair real estate practice group

Ilya Leyvi

New York, NY Adler & Stachenfeld LLP (A&S), has promoted Ilya Leyvi to chair of the firm’s growing real estate finance practice group.

As a partner at A&S, Leyvi provides market-leading legal representation for lender and borrower clients on various forms of financings, including bridge loans, construction loans, mezzanine loans, C-PACE loans, as well as preferred equity investments across various asset classes — including multifamily, hotel, self-storage, industrial and office.

Leyvi joined A&S in 2014 out of law school and rose quickly through the ranks. He was named real estate practice co-chair in 2021, only seven years after joining the firm full-time, assuming a significant leadership role over the operations of the entire finance practice. Leyvi has been honored by the Thomson Reuter Super Lawyer’s inclusion on their New York Metro Rising Stars list for six consecutive years.

“Having proven himself a talented attorney and a strong leader, Ilya’s ascension to chair of our real estate finance practice group is a natural next step in his career,” said Terri Adler, managing partner at Adler & Stachenfeld. “A&S takes succession planning and mentoring the firm’s next generation of leaders seriously. This promotion is a significant part of seeing that plan put into action, while solidifying our finance practice for decades to come.”

Leyvi, along with his team, has represented banks and national financial institutions on their most complex financing transactions, and has distinguished himself by becoming a go-to-attorney for construction financing, particularly in the New York metropolitan area, as well as distressed transactions.

As chair, Leyvi will continue to oversee and grow the firm’s real estate finance group, training and managing a team of six dedicated finance attorneys and handling finance matters for clients across the firm. In addition, he will continue to foster and expand the firm’s relationships with finance clients, developing solutions for their most challenging transactions and providing outstanding world-class legal services.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
