ACEC New York awards scholarships to 24 New York area engineering students

Twenty-four engineering students attending colleges and universities in NYS will receive $65,000 collectively in scholarship money from member firms of ACEC N.Y. Individual awards range from $2,500 to $5,000 and are given based on the students' cumulative grade-point average, college activities, work experience and essays on consulting engineering. Since the program's launch in 2002, ACEC New York has awarded 214 scholarships totaling $578,000. Students attending New York metropolitan-area colleges will be honored at ACEC N.Y.'s membership luncheon on May 19th at the Union League Club. Students attending upstate colleges will be recognized at the council's winter conference in Albany on January 24,th 2016.
Two students - Steven Lowinger and Michelle DePinho - were honored with ACEC N.Y. Merit Scholarships, each in the amount of $5,000, at the ACEC N.Y. Engineering Excellence Awards Gala at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on March 28th. Awards of Merit are given by ACEC New York to recognize agencies and authorities for outstanding achievements in service to New York communities.

Mid-Hudson Region Scholarship, $2,500 - Meghan Furton, Cornell University; ACEC N.Y. Mid-Hudson Region Scholarship, $2,500 - Anderson Garcia, Manhattan College; ACEC N.Y. Western Region Scholarship, $2,500 - Adrianne Claire Richardson, University at Buffalo; AECOM Scholarship, $2,500 - Connor Haddix, University of Rochester; AKF Group LLC Scholarship, $2,500 - Liam McAninch, Union College; Dagher Engineering, PLLC Scholarship, $2,500 - Nicholas Adamo, Manhattan College; HAKS Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors, P.C. Scholarship, $2,500 - Vincent Terrone, Manhattan College.
