More than 500 exhibitors, encompassing all aspects of the real estate industry, will be presenting at the tradeshow, which offers over 10,000 industry professionals "one-stop shopping" for all of their building and maintenance needs.
GreenBuildingsNY, an exhibition within the BuildingsNY event, will provide education, product sourcing and networking opportunities for the New York City sustainability marketplace. BuildingsNY serves the maintenance, repair and operations needs of existing building owners and managers. Together, the events provide a robust presentation of products, education and green product sourcing for compliance, sustainability and new tax credit opportunities.
GreenBuildingsNY will serve both the building renovation and new building construction market with products such as HVAC, building controls, plumbing, flooring, paint, supplies and lighting, as well as architectural and engineering services.
Attendees to the event will include: New York City and metropolitan area architects, engineers, contractors, facilities managers, building owners, property managers, developers, and builders.
The GreenBuildingsNY event is launched in partnership with the USGBC New York and sponsor American Institute of Architects (AIA-NY), with support from Construction Specification Institute (CSI), the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments, New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN) and the International Code Council (ICC). Media sponsors include Reed Business' publications Building Design and Construction and Reed Construction Data, as well as online building and construction resources ReedFirstSource.com and RSMeans.
"ABO represents over 300 building owners throughout New York City, and I believe that addressing sustainability in both new construction and building renovations through Green BuildingsNY is where we need to be as an organization," said Nick LaPorte, Jr., executive director of the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York. "We're excited to be working with the USGBC and AIA in launching this event and feel that this relationship allows us to best serve, and stay at the forefront of, the New York City buildings market.
"The credibility and established presence in the New York City buildings market of BuildingsNY, made this the logical place to launch GreenBuildingsNY," said Ed Nichols, Industry vice president with Reed Exhibitions. "Reed Exhibitions and ABO, through our BuildingsNY event, have established a recognized and trusted brand serving this market. Leveraging that brand, coupled with the support of the USGBC New York, AIA-NY and the full slate of Reed Business building and construction resources, we feel confident that GreenBuildingsNY will differentiate itself from the number of 'green events' popping up; and will be a high quality event with real relevance to New York City and the tri-state area."
"GreenBuildingsNY will provide an opportunity for the city and region to learn about the latest in green products and attend targeted educational events right in their backyard. Working with ABO and AIA on this event is an important step in the evolution of green building in the city," said Russell Unger, executive director of USGBC New York.
