Title: Business Development

Company Name: Bohler

Real estate associations or organizations that you are currently a member of: CREWNY, LIREG, CIBS, NYBC

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I actually wanted to be a nun! Once I got involved in business development as an intern, I knew that’s where I belonged.

What led you to your current profession?

I believe I was born to build, but not in the typical fashion. Build up people, build up businesses, build up buildings! I enjoy empowering ambitious people to accomplish their goals. Working in business development at Bohler has been a dream, representing a company I am proud of, working with people I admire, it doesn’t get any better. As a plus, I am on the party planning committee for the NY offices.

What trends will dominate your industry in the coming months?

COVID has flipped the script on retail design trends, and the drive-thru has become a key differentiator. At Bohler, our teams have seen an influx of requests to add drive-thrus to existing stores, and we’ve also seen projects midway through the entitlement process redesigning the project to add a drive-thru. We continue to help our clients evaluate their sites and better understand if a drive-thru addition makes sense.

In the past year, what project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?

This past year, I am most proud of how Bohler transitioned all 700+ employees seamlessly to remote work. We were fully operational and helping clients navigate this uncharted territory within days. Our leadership continues to take steps to ensure the health and safety of all of our employees.

Who was/is your mentor and how did s/he influence/help you in your career?

My Mom! She is an environmental scientist and was one of the only women in her field, and at the top. While doing that she was also a full-time mom of two kids and two dogs, a wife, and a girl scout troop leader. My mom showed me that women can have and do it all.

How do you contribute to your community or profession?

I practice a positive attitude in all aspects of my life, personal and career. I meditate before work, and during if needed! I am always inclusive of those around me, and try to encourage others to do their best as well.

What books or social media influencers would you recommend to other women?

Good to Great, Emotional Intelligence, The Confidence Code
