9/11 Memorial Museum selects Mobilitie LLC to help keep visitors connected

Mobilitie LLC, one of the nation's leading providers of wireless infrastructure solutions, has been selected to provide cellular wireless infrastructure for the National September 11 Memorial Museum. Mobilitie's underground Distributed Antenna System (DAS) will provide wireless coverage to cell phones, tablets and other mobile devices of guests visiting the highly anticipated 110,000 s/f museum. "This country is eagerly awaiting the historic opening of the National September 11 Memorial Museum," said Christos Karmis, president of Mobilitie. "We are honored to have a role in the Memorial Museum and to help keep people connected with family and friends while visiting. People share their most important life experiences with loved ones through their mobile devices, and this will be especially true as visitors will be drawn to capture and share the museum's impact through on-line posts of text, images, and videos." Each wireless carrier can connect to Mobilitie's neutral host DAS network to provide an enhanced experience with the highest levels of speed and reliability. Despite its underground location, which results in signal connectivity challenges with the macro wireless networks, Mobilitie will help ensure that visitors will have access to a seamless wireless experience. "Mobile is really a critical part of a visit to the 9/11 Memorial Museum," said Marc Cima, chief technology officer of the 9/11 Memorial. "The Museum will have mobile apps that can be downloaded before a visit or onsite, and those mobile apps will truly enhance the mobile experience while visiting or from home. Also, it's important that experience can be shared with family, friends, or the world through social media and online communities spanning the globe. To make this possible, we are happy to be working with Mobilitie to ensure visitors and our supporters can stay connected with their mobile devices while visiting the museum.
