What emerging challenge or opportunity do you see shaping the construction industry in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it? Over the next few years, the construction industry will be shaped by advancing technology and ongoing workforce challenges. Digital tools such as BIM and AI are becoming standard, improving coordination, accuracy, and efficiency. At the same time, the shortage of experienced labor highlights the importance of training, mentorship, and collaboration. I am preparing by building my technical skills, staying current with digital construction tools, learning from experienced mentors, and keeping informed on sustainable practices and materials as sustainability becomes an industry standard.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Early in my career, I learned that you don’t need to know everything on day one — but you do need to believe you belong in the room. Ask questions, commit to learning every part of the work, and remember that knowledge is power. I welcome learning because it builds confidence. Most importantly, speak up when you have something to contribute. Different perspectives strengthen teams and outcomes. Construction rewards competence and consistency, and respect follows those who show up prepared, curious, and willing to grow.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? Setting daily milestones and breaking goals into smaller tasks helps me stay motivated and organized during busy weeks.
