Zachary Bermudez
Senior Managing Director
Peapack Private Bank & Trust

“Zach is the definition of a true career banker — deeply experienced, highly respected, and fully committed to both his clients and colleagues. He has built strong, lasting relationships across his portfolio, and it’s clear that clients genuinely trust and value his insight, responsiveness, and integrity. Internally, he is equally admired, consistently stepping up as a dependable and collaborative partner. What truly sets Zach apart is his combination of strong analytical skills and an unwavering work ethic. He never shies away from a challenge and is always willing to take on additional projects, no matter how complex. His positive attitude is contagious, and he approaches every situation with a solutions-oriented mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes. Beyond his professional strengths, Zach is simply a great person — someone who elevates the team through his character, humility, and genuine care for others. We are fortunate to have him on our team.”

How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization?

I enjoy working with the young professionals in our group. Helping them to learn and succeed is important to me as they represent the future of our industry. I’m grateful for the opportunity to assist them in their career journey as so many others have done for me throughout my professional development.

What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate?

The CRE world is one that provides space for all personality types. I often recommend that young professionals explore as many avenues as possible to find where their strengths and skillsets best fit, then grow and expand from there.

What book, podcast, or app has most influenced your approach to leadership?

I’m currently enjoying the legendary UCLA basketball coach, John Wooden’s book on leadership and I’ve always admired Warren Buffett’s low-key, humble management style.

Who has had the greatest impact on your career or leadership journey?

I’ve had numerous mentors throughout my personal and professional life, people who believed in my potential and encouraged me along the way.
