What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community?
At CLA, I am proud to have led the expansion of our Northeast cost segregation practice, helping build a strong, sustainable presence across New York and the greater Northeast. Cost segregation is a tax planning service that identifies commercial real estate assets eligible for accelerated depreciation over shorter recovery periods. These assets may include newly constructed, acquired, or renovated buildings. Bringing this tax strategy in-house has expanded the CLA Northeast region’s portfolio of federal tax strategies to better serve our clients.
What book, podcast, or app has most influenced your approach to leadership?
Josh Axelrad’s Repeat Until Rich reinforces the idea to find a system that works and repeat it at scale.
How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization?
At CLA, I mentor, motivate, and inspire others by fostering a culture of transparency, respect, and learning. Transparency is key; it is important to clearly communicate expectations, feedback, and boundaries. Respect is what relationships are built on and how those relationships are maintained. We also must always respect ourselves, our organization, and the work that we do. Learning (which includes CPE!) is a lifelong process that is essential for refinement and growth. If you are not learning, you are not growing!
What daily habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated as a leader?
Proper nutrition, movement, fresh air, and rest help me stay focused and motivated.
Who has had the greatest impact on your career or leadership journey?
My parents taught discipline and integrity — leaders do what’s right, even when no one is watching.
