2026 Developing Long Island: Motor Generator Replacement at Babylon Train Yard and Hillside Power Facility

Babylon, NY Power Resources International (PRI) is in the final close-out phase of LIRR contract #6359, Motor Generator Replacement at the Babylon Train Yard and the Hillside Power Facility. As the prime contractor, PRI was responsible for the entire project from inception to completion. Our scope of work included prefabricated buildings, VFD, PLC, and Circuit Breaker cabinets, battery rooms, new motor generators, transformers, and all associated components. 

To meet the client’s needs, PRI demolished all old existing above and underground structures to clear the way for the new construction. PRI provided design build and environmental services for the enhanced Signal Power Motor Generator systems. PRI also fabricated, installed, tested and commissioned all equipment for the new systems, and provided the LIRR with full operation and maintenance documentation to ensure solutions are kept up and running for as long as possible.

PRI worked closely with valued partners Island Structures, Haugland Group, D&B Engineers and Architects, and Grace Industries, LLC to equip Babylon and Hillside with next-generation technology to keep the LIRR running safely and smoothly. PRI is proud to have provided fully integrated turnkey solutions at these locations, and looks forward to continuing to serve Long Island in the future.
