What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community?
Although I am proud of all the different projects I have been on over my 12 years at EW Howell, I think the project that I am most proud to be involved with and where I learned the most is the renovation of Jones Beach Theater. We had a talented team that worked tirelessly to meet an extremely aggressive deadline, under demanding design circumstances and many logistical challenges due to the location. Being a part of this project to improve the historic Jones Beach Theater for all to enjoy is an experience I will not forget.
Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry?
My inspiration comes from the women I have worked with over the years who have pushed forward to improve themselves in a difficult atmosphere. Currently, there are positive trends and supportive organizations for women in construction which is great to see. My advice is to stay curious, ask questions and learn something new every day. Keep going!
What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work?
My favorite way to recharge is to spend time with my kids, family and close friends.
Do you have a hidden talent or a surprising fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know?
I love to paint and draw.
