2025 Women in CRE: Amy Heller, Meridian Capital Group

Amy Heller
Sr. Managing Director
Sr. Housing & Healthcare Finance
Meridian Capital Group

What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why?

One of my most rewarding projects was during the COVID-19 pandemic, when my bank rapidly mobilized to process Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. Amid uncertainty, my team built a system to support nursing home clients — operators under immense pressure caring for vulnerable populations. Helping them secure critical funds to pay staff working tirelessly was deeply meaningful. Expanding the program to non-clients reinforced the impact. Contributing to frontline caregivers during this crisis gave me a profound sense of purpose.

What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate?

My advice to a woman starting in commercial real estate is to seek a trusted mentor, regardless of gender, for guidance and perspective. Be curious, ask questions, and when presented challenges, offer solutions supported by facts. Volunteer for visible projects to accelerate growth and build your reputation. Most importantly, advocate for yourself — don’t wait to be 100% ready before pursuing the next step. Confidence and initiative are key; you’re more capable than you realize.
