2025 Women in Construction: Nancy Erardi, NYCAN Builders

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry?

My dad was my biggest inspiration. He cemented my work ethic in me and taught me that hard work will pay off. I do and would always give the same advice to anyone that he gave to me. “Being a women in the construction industry can be both challenging and rewarding. You must embrace confidence and trust in your skills and knowledge. Don’t be afraid to ask if you don’t know. Stay persistent. Set clear goals, define what success looks like to you and pursue it with determination. And lastly, take pride in your contributions, be proud of your work.”

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work?

Activities that combine creativity and relaxation are ideal such as exploring nature i.e. hiking.
