2025 Women in Construction: Andrea Mancino, Bright Power

Andrea Mancino
CEO
Bright Power

What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community?

I climbed from intern to CEO at Bright Power in just over a decade. Early on, I co-founded two divisions within the company that provide building system commissioning and high performance building consulting for ground-up new construction projects. I’ve spent countless hours on construction sites and with design teams, learning how to navigate the complexities of being a woman in a male-dominated field. In my position as CEO, I am able to use my experience to both manage and build a diverse company, mentoring many employees on their professional growth and creating an inclusive company ethos.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry?

I’ve always been inspired by other women’s journeys and experiences. Mentorship is critical for anyone, but especially women because many of our experiences can feel isolating. If you meet someone that offers mentorship, take them up on their offer! Ask questions, seek advice, be inquisitive. Learn to balance humility and empathy with firmness and confidence. You got yourself to where you are. You deserve to be there the same as anyone else. Finally, remember to build up other women around you. There is a lot already stacked up against us for us to be stacked up against each other.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work?

This might sound cliche but I love to walk by the water or find somewhere in nature that’s really silent to combat the sounds of the city and recharge my brain.

Do you have a hidden talent or a surprising fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know?

I am an exceptional juggler and can’t even tell you how I figured that out years ago.
