What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of?

It is rewarding to be part of MTA’s initiative to make New York City’s subway system accessible. This massive project includes multiple stations located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. I manage Urbahn Architects’ team creating ADA accessibility paths from street level to platforms as well as designing renovations and upgrades to numerous stations. Contributing to public projects that benefit the community at large has always been extremely gratifying to me.

What are the most important factors young women should consider when choosing a firm to build their career with?

My advice to young women choosing an employer in the design or real estate industries would be to look into the type of projects done by the company and confirm they align with their interests and passions. An organization should offer a culture that fosters professional growth and career opportunities, promote women to leadership roles and mentor young professionals. The culture should be inclusive, collaborative and engaging, and the company’s compensation structure equitable for female professionals.
