2023 Women in CRE: Nikole Loayza, Henderson Engineers

Nikole Loayza
Project Manager
Henderson Engineers

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? As a born and bred New Yorker, the city is such a huge part of my identity, so I love being part of any development that changes its fabric. I’m proud to have been involved in the new Whole Foods Market at One Wall St. in the Financial District. The project was part of one of the largest ever office-to-residential tower conversions in NYC and it took more than seven years to complete.

Who inspires you most? What qualities do they possess that inspire you? My mom, a petite Spanish woman who commands respect from everyone while being incredibly loving. I owe much of my personality and success to her.

Why should this nominee be recognized in our Women in Commercial Real Estate Spotlight? “Nikole and I worked together on the Whole Foods account and because of her tremendous work ethic, drive for excellence and enthusiasm for her work, we turned over several successful projects. Her considerable knowledge, experience, and great personality made it a truly collaborative and fun work environment.” - Jeanine Wilson, Project Executive at CM&B.

What are the most important factors women in your industry should consider when choosing a firm to build their career with? It’s important to find a place where you’re respected, valued, and supported so you can fully realize your potential despite any challenges that may arise.
