What was a pivotal point in your career? Five years into my career, I asked for my first promotion. Before that, I had not received a promotion as part of my annual evaluation period, so I scheduled a meeting with the chief operations officer and pitched my case. At the time, it felt intimidating, but it worked, and it taught me a valuable lesson - women in our profession must advocate for themselves. Recognize your worth, confidently ask for what you want and deserve, and do not assume that anyone will do this for you.

What is your favorite building in New York? The Chrysler Building. I was born in Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a toddler, I confused the two on my first visit to New York and started telling people that I was born in the Chrysler Building. It has had a place in my heart ever since.
