2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Brandilyn Dumas, Greenberg Traurig, LLP

Brandilyn Dumas
Shareholder
Greenberg Traurig, LLP

Number of years at firm: 10

One thing on my bucket list: To explore East Africa, especially Ethiopia and Tanzania. I have had the opportunity to visit the other regions of the continent.

When I am not working, I am: volunteering and mentoring (I serve as a director at WP Theater, a trustee at Winchester Thurston School, a trustee at Harlem Link Charter School and a mentor in NYU Law’s Birnbaum Women’s Leadership Fellowship Program), mentoring, attending shows (theater and concerts, mostly hip hop), watching Duke basketball, and weightlifting.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? We were able to assist a group, who had historically only acted as operators, as opposed to buyers and sellers, in a complicated disposition of their entire portfolio. What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Brandilyn has been involved in several significant commercial real estate transactions, including a $160 million multi-state residential joint venture and the $52.5 million purchase of an iconic Georgia hotel. She is a leader in recruiting and mentoring associates and acts a career development liaison, and is also actively involved in DEI initiatives.” - Howard Schochet and Kristen Lonergan, Co-Chairs of the New York Real Estate Practice at Greenberg Traurig, LLP
