Nominee’s Name & Job Title: David Curry, Partner

Nominee’s Company/Affiliation: Farrell Fritz, P.C.

Nominee’s City & State of Employment: Uniondale, NY

Describe what you would consider to be ONE of your top career highlights:

Last year, Farrell Fritz represented TD Bank in two large financings with Steel Equities. One was a permanent loan on the movie and television production studio in Brooklyn that is fully leased to Netflix. The other was a mortgage loan and line of credit at the large medical building, 2200 Northern Blvd.

What award were you most proud to receive?

Earlier this year, I was recognized by Lawyers Alliance for New York along with our first-year associate Laura Fallick for our pro bono work with Chalkbeat, an organization that reports on important educational developments in New York City schools.

What advice would you give the next generation of leaders in your industry?

I was given this advice by a colleague and mentor: Be responsive. Return calls, return e-mails, and do so promptly.

It is OK to say, “I don’t know, but I will get back to you.” Relationships are gained and lost based on one’s ability to follow this essential rule.

What is your management style?

I emphasize the importance of communication and collaboration with regular meetings among our group and frequent interaction with our firm’s other practice group areas, including corporate, tax certiorari, land use and trusts and estates departments. We like to foster cross solving and driving solutions for clients.
