2021 Year in Review: Dominic Coluccio, Samanea New York

Name: Dominic Coluccio

Job Title: Chief Leasing & Development Officer

Company Name: Samanea New York

What are your predictions for your industry in 2022?
Developers and owners are evolving to create new, unique experiences that engage and connect with consumers and their communities. Instead of focusing only on traditional retailers, it’s become vital for a property to assess best uses that meet new demands. Also, although customer service and relationship building are core factors to succeed in real estate, I believe people will crave more authentic connections, since we all worked through the pandemic together—one way or another.

What was the biggest lesson you learned while working during the pandemic?
I have always been naturally resilient and have also always adapted well in business. So although the pandemic certainly presented many unforeseen obstacles, I was able to adapt by being creative and versatile. I learned new skills and innovative ways to conduct business–which was critical.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2021?
I am extremely grateful for the professional experiences over the year. I connected with amazing people, and was awarded with many professional accolades, such as the Executive of the Month by NYREJ and Rising Star in Commercial Estate by Long Island Business News, for helping to revitalize an iconic commercial location. Equally as rewarding is knowing that my work will create economic and social benefits to Nassau County for many years to come.
