Opening up Coldwell Banker Commercial Custom Realty in Rochester, NY

How do you keep your team motivated despite conflicts and obstacles?
I have a very open-door policy, I encourage dialogue with me and others on the team. It is a very collaborative team additionally we meet once a week for a planned out and efficient meeting.

Why should women consider a career in commercial real estate and related services?
We always hear the saying about “having it all,” the job, the family, etc. Commercial real estate empowers a woman to create her own destiny, to make a difference and be in control of her time, her business focus, and the pace in which she grows her business. She is completely in control. Achieving success in commercial real estate doesn’t require a specialized degree, has a low cost of entry and is an opportunity open to anyone and everyone.

Tell us a thing or two about you that is NOT on your resume or LinkedIn profile?
I sing in a classic rock band…

How do you contribute to your community or your profession?
Just finishing my three years as the Rochester Area Chapter president of the NYS Commercial Association of Realtors. I also sit on the board of governors at the state level of NYSCAR and will be a board member for the Upstate Chapter of CCIM in 2022

How do you advocate for your fellow women in real estate?
We have a group of women in real estate and development in Rochester that meets monthly. I also actively mentor women who are new to the business.

What books or social media influencers would you recommend to other women?
I am a huge fan of Club House, through the app I have had great conversations with women in real estate, all over the country. Beth Azor is one of my favorites, but I honestly admire too many to count
