2020 Ones to Watch: Jordan Goldman, Bargold Storage Systems, LLC

August 18, 2020 - Spotlights

Name: Jordan Goldman

Company: Bargold Storage Systems, LLC

Title: An Owner

Education: B.S. Long Island University-1991

What led you to your current profession?
When I graduated St. John’s Pharmacy school and became a licensed pharmacist in NY and Florida I realized I’d be “trapped” behind a counter all day, every day. When the opportunity arose for me to do something completely different, where I’d be walking the beat, meeting many people and traveling through the five boroughs, Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey, I jumped on it.

If your life were made into a movie, what actor would you want to portray you?
If my life were made into a movie, I would want William Shatner (Star Trek Shatner, not Dodgeball Shatner) to portray me. Being at Bargold for the past 24 years, I have seen parts of the city and Tri-State Area that I would have never seen. I like to think that I have, “explored strange new worlds and have boldly gone where I would have otherwise never had an opportunity to have gone before!”

Which project, deal, or transaction was the “game-changer” in the advancement of your career?
I started working for Bargold Storage the summer of 1996. From day one I have always treated all projects equally, whether we were building 6 units or 500 units at a building or complex. The “game-changer” for me was a slow progression of meeting all these new people, installing our great product and becoming good friends with many of the people I did business with.

How do you contribute to your community or your profession?
A few years ago, I got together with eight friends to create a charity named Life’s Angels (www.lifesangels.org). We have organized an annual charity event for the last three years (this year’s fourth annual event was postponed due to COVID-19) to raise money for numerous local people with health issues who couldn’t afford to put food on the table or pay their rent. Life’s Angels has sent many children to summer programs who never before had that opportunity, enabling their caregiver parents to work those weeks. We also provide food and essentials to those in need during the Holidays.

What do you like most about your job?
The opportunity to go out and meet so many people. Having a good balance of being inside and outside of the office is important to me. The fact that I get to meet great people and provide a much-needed service puts a smile on my face and makes me want to go out there, day after day, to keep doing what I do.

Who or what inspires you?
My last thoughts when I go to sleep at night and first thoughts when I wake up every morning are of my home family, my friends and my Bargold family. All of them inspire me to go out there every day—and I try to keep as many of them happy and smiling as possible. Ultimately, I want to make my home family proud of me, get my friends to laugh at my jokes and keep everyone at Bargold employed.

What social media platform do you use the most professionally?
I’ve always been an “old soul” and because of this I have never really embraced technology to the same extent as my peers. My favorite forms of social media are phone calls, texting and emails although I’ve been known to dabble on Facebook from time to time.
