2019 Women in Real Estate: Gladymir Boone, KPMG, LLP

Name: Gladymir Boone

Title: Audit Senior Manager

Company Name: KPMG, LLP

What is your favorite motivational quote?
“Instead of letting your hardships and failures discourage or exhaust you, let them inspire you. Let them make you even hungrier to succeed.” ~ Michelle Obama

What is the best advice you have received, and who was it from?
As over achievers we have the tendency to want to do it all ourselves. One of my mentors, Erin Balog, partner at KPMG, LLP, taught me that if you don’t take the time to teach your staff you are taking part in the hindrance of their career development process. When she put it that way who would want to take part in such a thing.

What was one of your biggest accomplishments in the last 12 months?
As a working mother, I strive to be a role model for other working mothers. After the birth of my second child, I returned to the workforce part-time for a year and full-time thereafter. I had a successful year managing my workload and personal life and learned that life is all about the gives and takes. In the end it all balances itself out. It brings me great pleasure to know that I have influenced others at work to be their best self. Mentoring and coaching our staff is one of the best parts of my job.
