2019 Ones to Watch: Mike Kerwin, Rosewood Realty Group

Name: Mike Kerwin

Title: Senior Vice President Investment Sales

Company Name: Rosewood Realty Group

Address: 38 East 29th Street New York, NY 10016

What do you consider to be your greatest success in the past 12 months?
My greatest success has been my ability to foresee large changes to the real estate landscape and pivot quickly to continue to move forward and close multifamily and also office and development deals totaling near $70 million.

?What advice can you offer to someone who is just getting started in your industry?
My main advice is to set realistic short-term and long-term goals and then plan to work ten times harder than you ever dreamed of , without compensation for at least a year or more. Real estate is an unbelievably tough and competitive business, but for the right candidate willing to work hard and pay their dues, it can be highly rewarding.

If you have a mentor, who is it and how has this relationship influenced your professional growth?
Although I have had several influences in the business my main mentor has been Aaron Jungreis. I started working for him in 2004 and whether it is deal strategy or just how to work hard–he is an inspiration, not just to me, but to many, many others.
