2018 Women In Real Estate, Professional Services: Christen Portelli, Highcap Group LLC

Name: Christen Portelli

Title: Co-Founder & Principal

Company Name: Highcap Group LLC

What are some of your biggest accomplishments in the last 12 months?

I just launched Rooted Spaces, an affiliate company to Highcap Group consulting landlords and developers on biophillic elements & design in residential buildings, office buildings, medical asset classes and hotels. My partners and I incorporate natural components such as urban farming/rooftops, air filtration systems, living walls, wall murals and environmentally friendly architecture. These unique “green” concepts promote a healthier lifestyle in an exclusive higher quality building while producing significantly better financial returns. (www.rootedspaces.com). Highcap and Rooted Spaces are complimentary business models, uniquely mutually beneficial to clients.

How many messages are in your inbox right now and how do you manage email?

Keeping ahead of a cluttered inbox is a priority! I usually index emails on level of importance/time urgency and also have folders to keep organized.

In one word, describe yourself:

Dynamic

What blogs, resources, podcasts or influencers have helped you?

Most recently I was featured on Larry Haber’s, Real Estate Reality Check Podcast. Larry is a well-known transactional attorney with a passion for music, rock n’ roll icons & pop culture. He used these subjects as a basis for his analogies. The questions were innovative and fun–the podcast opened the door to a wider audience who I would have not reached otherwise.

What do you do like to do for fun?

Spending time with family & traveling. We always enjoy all of the LI beaches, waterfront towns, boating, exploring – can’t really beat it.
