What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2017?

In Soho, an historic landmark district, BGA assisted the Joint Venture of Aurora Capital Associates and Allied Partners, Inc. to re-position two connecting loft buildings to prime commercial office  space, at 568-578 Broadway. The project involved the design of new services and amenities to attract tenants such as Group Nine Media, Inc., who will soon occupy five floors of this building complex. BGA developed fresh ideas and solutions for the entrance lobbies, the addition of new elevators to meet tenant demand, and developed an outdoor roof deck solution. Our extensive track record with historic NYC properties paved the way for submissions to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Who or what contributed to your success in 2017 and why?

The expertise and unique talents of every member of BGA’s staff combine to produce an outcome where “the sum of the parts is indeed greater than the whole.” We foster an atmosphere where collaboration rules. This philosophy allows BGA to create a design solution that meets the precise and exacting needs of each of our clients. Our staff is and continues to be a key element in our success.

What trends will impact your business in 2018?

The re-examination of the workplace environment and changing demographics will continue to impact business in 2018.  We’ve witnessed the changes in the New York City retail landscape as a result of the surge in online shopping and the requisite need for fulfillment centers. This “disruptive” environment demands creativity and “out-of-the-box” thinking to identify the opportunities that exist. BGA is always up to the challenge.  We have been for more than 40 years.
