How have you navigated obstacles to achieve success in your career?

Over the course of my nine-year career, I’ve found that the best first step when navigating obstacles is stopping for a beat to assess the situation from multiple angles. Taking time to think through an obstacle allows me to come up with a list of potential solutions and ask for outside advice. During this time I can also picture the situation from the viewpoint of other people involved, such as colleagues, clients, and contractors. This helps me center my focus and achieve the team’s goal.

How do you play your strengths to your advantage in your career?

Since childhood, I’ve had the ability to learn quickly. This ability, coupled with my organizational skills, allowed me to grow in several areas of engineering during the first six years of my career. These skills helped me pivot my career to the AEC industry and realize a long held dream of working on New York City developments.

What do you do for fun?

I like to ride my bike around the five boroughs or sweat it out at my neighborhood hot yoga studio.
