What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2016?

LED lighting retro-fits for the common areas of large multifamily buildings. These installations involve more than just lamp changes - including the selection of the correct LED product along with a substantial amount of rewiring to retro-fit existing fixtures with LED engines as well as fixture rewiring to by-pass ballasts. The end results can be transformative - both in terms of light quality as well as lower energy consumption, which translates into substantial cost savings.

What project, transaction, market trend or product had the greatest impact on your industry this year?

With expansion of NYC Local Law 88 - which now requires multifamily buildings to retro-fit common area lighting to LED - there will be an increasing trend for multifamily buildings to initiate their LED retrofits, sooner rather than later, i n order to take advantage of the Con Ed funding that is currently available to help fund these retrofits.

How will you be supercharging your productivity in 2017?

We plan to revamp our website to emphasize LED retro-fits as well as initiate a series of educational programs targeting prospective multifamily buildings to encourage LED retro-fits.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2017?

Because LED retro-fits are now a requirement under Local Law 88, there will be more focus on LED retro-fits and the economic advantages that a LED retro-fit offers. We anticipate that this focus on the economic advantages of a LED retro-fit will result in an increasing trend of initiating LED retro-fits.
