Name and Title: Davidson Chen, Sales Manager

Company Name: Gamco Corp.

What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2016?

The completion of Renaissance Tower, a professional medical building in Flushing, NY, was a major achievement for Gamco Corporation.  Gamco supplied a complete 10-story full glass curtain wall front façade for the building.  Additionally, we fabricated the glass entranceway, ancillary exterior doors and interior metal column covers.

What project, transaction, market trend or product had the greatest impact on your industry this year?

The demand by owners, architects, and contractors for custom fenestration and architectural metal work continues to be a strong trend in the New York area.  Increasingly, renovation and new construction projects are designed with custom curtain wall and storefronts, decorative and functional glass entrances, as well as unique items like custom canopies, railings, structural skylights and architectural sunshades. Thankfully, Gamco specializes in all these architectural elements.

How will you be supercharging your productivity in 2017?

Gamco’s success in 2017 will build on our 30 years of experience in the fabrication of custom fenestration and architectural metals.  New laser-guided computer numeric controlled (CNC) fabrication equipment will speed production, increase capacity, lower costs and further improve the quality of metal door, storefront, curtain wall and other metal frame components.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2017?

Regarding the New York real estate market, I foresee the continuation of relatively low interest rates and the new Administration’s focus on economic growth will keep investment in and development of property strong for the coming year.  With ongoing construction in the New York market, Gamco expects the recent trends toward ever-larger and expansive glass openings and more curtain wall projects in the City’s outer boroughs, not just Manhattan, to continue.  Gamco looks forward to supplying these and other projects.
