How did you get your start in real estate?

I started working as a construction project manager for one of my father’s companies which then developed into project coordination for commercial & residential real estate development

What real estate associations or organizations are you a member of?

Long Island Real Estate Group

What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?

I’m finally completing my initial project – construction of a 21,000 s/f shopping center. Two of my tenants are opening this summer.

What have been some of the benefits of being a mentor or having a mentor?

The mentor I have the most gratitude for is my father. In addition to teaching me the logistics of running a business, he’s taught me how to gain and maintain strong business relationships. Working together has created the perfect blend of old school and new school. I also appreciate working with contractors that have been generous with their time and resources in order to help educate me about their respective industries, in turn enabling me to successfully do my job.

Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why?

Although family dynamics can present a challenge in business, working with my dad has been extremely rewarding. Right away he entrusted me with responsibilities way outside of my experience level but this has enabled me to grow at an exponential rate. He’s also given me the opportunity to teach myself and learn by trial and error which is something I consider to be very valuable but would not have had a chance to do without him. Initially the learning curve was grueling but three years in, I absolutely love what I do and already have plans in the works for us to expand.
