How did you get your start in real estate?

After graduating law school, I served as Deputy Counsel to the Rent Stabilization Association of N.Y.C., Inc. before entering private practice that focuses on landlord-tenant and rent regulatory litigation and counsel.

What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?

While maintaining my law practice, I was able to assist my elderly parents through their final illnesses so that they were able to remain comfortably in their home and receive appropriate care. I am grateful that I was able to make the time to spend with them and appreciated the assistance of colleagues who occasionally covered for me. For many working adults, elder care of loved ones is a life-altering project.

What recent honor, achievement or recognition has meant the most to you and why?

I am proud to write or edit several unique publications relating to landlord-tenant and property management law. I write Landlord v. Tenant: NYC (Vendome Group), a monthly case digest of court, DHCR and ECB decisions. I revise the annual Apartment Management Checklist (Vendome Group), a summary of local, state and federal laws on everything from asbestos containment to water conservation. I also provide editorial comment for the annual New York Landlord-Tenant Law desk reference (the “Tanbook”)(LexisNexis), covering real property laws, condo/co-op regulation, and rent control and rent stabilization. Working on these publications keeps me informed in my practice area, and provides a change of pace.
